Topoisomerase cleavage
€ 2000,00
This animation illustrates the cleaving action of the enzyme topoisomerase (yellow) on DNA (blue), a class of enymes that reduces supercoiling. For DNA to unwind without getting tangled during replication and transcription, topoisomerase breaks a covalent bond in the DNA, providing stress release. When the DNA is no longer in use, topoisomerase can ligate the DNA.
