Description
This animation depicts p53 conformations. The protein p53 (yellow) is an important tumor suppressor that regulates proliferation, DNA repair, and cell cycle arrest. When activated in response to DNA, p53 binds to DNA (blue), inducing a conformational change in p53. Following this, further pathways will carry out the appropriate action in response to the DNA damage.
