This animation depicts the protein p53 (yellow), an important tumour suppressor that regulates proliferation, DNA repair, and cell-cycle arrest. When activated in response to DNA, p53 binds to DNA (blue) inducing a conformational change in p53. Following this, further pathways will carry out the appropriate action in response to the DNA damage.
